The Island Drifter EPS Mini Malibu is a great Beginner board. It has an EPS construction giving you major advantages. You get a special foam core that gives extra floatation. So your board is easy to paddle and easy to catch waves. The finished board is stronger than traditional boards. So as a Beginner when your board gets the odd bang and bump it’s less likely to ding needing an expensive repair and keeping you out of the water. EPS construction is also super light so for this size board it will be easy to get around both in and out of the water. For example when putting it on the roof of your car or trying to get out through the break.

The Island Drifter EPS Mini Malibu shape is a classic design to get you surfing fast. It’s got a fuller nose with the width extended down the board. So you get good paddling, wave catching, and stability. You’ll find it easier to get to and stay on your feet. As you progress the drawn-in tail allows you to step back and do more carving turns. The rounded pin shape of the tail helps you flow on and hold into the wave. The FCS II fin setup is in a Thruster format which gives a great all-around performance with drive and speed.
