The Future Fins Future Fins AM2 Techflex Tri Set is a solid drivey fin to charge good waves. It’s the largest thruster fin from Al Merrick and comes with a ride number of 3.0 out of 10, so you get lots of drive. You push on it and the fin generates consistent speed from the wave. You push more and you get more drive and control. It has a wide base that accounts for the drive, and a medium size tip so there’s flex for release. The rake of the fin is low so it holds, both top to bottom and in big direction change carves. Construction includes Carbon Fiber with the Techflex pattern over honeycomb so it’s light. The Techflex is good for good waves as its predictability helps you set up moves. It is recommended for bigger surfers. This means in the 80kg range. The fins feature the Futures Truss Base so they are light. Designed to break under impact the truss reduces the risk of injury or board damage.
