The Creatures Mick Fanning Grip is Mick’s signature grip. Mick uses it on his boards so you know it works. It has a 3 piece layout which is the most functional of all tail pad designs. The side pieces can be expanded from the middle so they can be placed closer to the rails. So your narrow and wide tail boards get optimal coverage. The centre piece has a 7mm raised arch. It’s in the form of a tear drop so sculpts to the bottom of your foot. The arch tapers down into the area before the kick starts. So your foot can naturally fit into this wedge aiding positive traction. This forms a sweet spot from which to drive. With your foot placed here you can more easily setup big moves. The Creatures Mick Fanning pad has a raised 28mm kick that flattens out on top. So there’s a flat edge you can get the side of your foot on and really push on. There’s an incut semi-circle pattern so you can place this grip closer to the end of your board, around your leg rope plug. Being able to place your back foot over your rear fin means you’ll get maximum drive. The grip features a lower square loc pattern that greatly aids traction keeping your toes closer to your deck. The pad uses high quality adhesive so once it’s applied it will stay stuck. A cool graded multi-colour pattern finishes the grip. Mick says, “At the top level I need to trust my equipment 100%.
