Komunity Project Kelly Slater Tail Pad

The Komunity Project Kelly Slater Tail Pad is Kelly’s signature grip. It’s a distinctive tail pad in a number of ways. First, it has Kelly’s signature Bullseye pattern that is distinctive and comes in a good colour set. So you get Kelly’s design style. The grip is all one piece so gives complete area coverage. It would be important to make sure this pad will fit on your board width ways as it can’t be expanded or reduced. So if you’ve got a wide Fish or narrow pin tail board, check your tail against the pad size. The pad is super thin, with no arch so is completely flat. Kelly and many surfers favour this format. It helps you move your back foot around for big takeoffs or heel and toe surfing.

Kick & Nubs

At the back of the pad there’s a 20mm kick to plant your foot against as needed. This kick is quite low. If you’re used to putting your foot on your kick at some time, like during late heavy takeoffs, then make sure you position this pad right at the rear of your tail as the kick is so small there’s almost nothing to stand on. A vee incut at the rear means you can place this grip closer to the end of your board, around your leg rope plug. So your back foot can be placed right over your back fin the location from which you get maximum drive.

The multi-nub texture gives traction no matter what angle your foot is placed. High quality 3M adhesive keeps the pad in place once applied. The pad is super light and includes the added bonus of a wax comb and fin key in the kick. This is a great tail pad of unequaled World Champion Kelly Slater.
