The Jimmy Lewis Signature Masao Pattern SUP Paddle is not like other paddles.  Rather than following the trend where everything has to be carbon, Jimmy’s paddle gives you several unique features. First it’s a signature paddle, designed by Jim Terrell from Quickblade. Jim is a 4 x Olympic Canoeist as well as holder of too many paddling awards to cover here. His expertise, specific to paddles, their design and how you get the best performance, is incorporated by Jimmy. So you’re getting world’s best experience and design in this paddle. Design features include just the right size paddle blade. It’s not too big so as to catch on the wave. It doesn’t pull too much water or have too much area to be caught by chop and bump. This is important as you use your paddle a lot to assist your turns and moves. When the specially designed blade enters the water it gives you maximum control. The shape and angle give a great power to stroke ratio as you pull yourself and your board through the water. Second, the paddles are a special fibreglass construction. This offers benefits over carbon. They’re not fatiguing and are less harsh on your body than unforgiving carbon. At timea when a wave slaps your paddle or your paddle bangs into your board carbon transmits the vibration into your arms. This can cause fatigue. They’ve got much more flex. This allows the paddle to recoil at the end of your paddle stroke so you get release and a noticeable extra boost of power. Jimmy says you have to feel it to believe it!
