The Astrodeck Barney Tail Pad is a high spec narrower tail pad. It comes in 5 pieces. Being narrower this pad will work on a narrow tail board like a rounded pin or tucked in squash. You can position the pad right back over the tail giving your maximum drive and control. The two side pieces can be expanded separately from the middle so will work on wider tail boards or if your board widens with a flyer. They can be placed closer to the rails giving optimal coverage too. The front pads can also be moved forward. This is an often overlooked area where your foot ends up over your sweet spot for smaller or charging waves. The centre piece with the raised arch is wider providing support across most of your foot. You will definitely be able to feel it to find your sweet spot. The tail has a 28mm kick that rises from a 45 degree angle to vertical. With that size and steep angle it stops your foot slipping off so you can really drive. At the back the two pieces can be extended around your leash plug so you can place the grip closer to the end of your board. The pad features a heap of holes so your toes can grip into it while weight is reduced. No matter what angle your foot is placed you’ll get maximum traction and really charge on this pad.
